Among the kiwis

No, that's right.. those are not kiwis above here, just regular sparrows trying to steal my food when I was in the Albert Park in Auckland, those sneaky little birdies! 🐦 And I still haven't seen kiwis in the wild yet so that's not what I was referring to, my Kiwis are a Kiwi family living near Queenstown and they are lovely! I have a double bed upstairs in their house (and the room is huge too), I may use their car but most of all.. I'm really enjoying spending time with them. This way, you get to see NZ in such a different way as when you're travelling.

So every week I work 4 days, I help the kids in the morning like making their breakfast and getting everything done and after they had some time for themselves I bring them to school :). Around 2.30 I walk to the school and wait for the bell as that's the sign that the kids may go home. But when we come 'home' they need to do their homework first because as we all know.. life is not only about making fun (I wish it was though :p) and then finally when that's done.. it's playtime!! I run around on a trampoline,  smashing tennis balls on the tennis court, cuddle up with their kitten, doing board games and so on and so on 😊.

So you might wonder.. what do you do in your free time then, as there are approximately 5,5 hours in between bringing the kids to school and picking them up again.. good question thanks for asking πŸ˜‡! I've been to a village nearby called Gore which is not really spectacular in comparison with Auckland but it is in comparison to the place I call my home for the next 5 weeks as there is really not much to do around here haha! It is even smaller than the village I'm living in with 18.591 inheritants, you will see what I mean when I tell you that this village only has 135 people living here🀭

So the picture up here is from yesterday, I drove more or less 60 kilometres to see this beautiful view while hiking up the mountain halfway, cause the track was officially a bike track called 'around the mountain' of 4 days. At the foot of the mountain there was such a stunning lake, the water was so blue that it felt like I just walked into a painting, which you have probably heard before but really.. it was just magical to look at :)

Anyway.. I will stop talking now haha and I will post my next blog around the weekend I guess, this weekend I'm going to a cottage between Queenstown and Wanaka! The highway to Wanaka is pretty steep I've heard so wish me luck in a car that has his steering wheel on the right side, but the gear on the left side oh.. and you also need to drive on the left side of the road, yeah I know.. pretty confusing if you would ask me πŸ˜…! Speak you later! πŸ‡³πŸ‡Ώ
