How cool .. I was invited by my NZ family to go and see a rugby game with the Southland and Fiji team playing ๐ It already started off with something great, the Fiji team did their own haka! If you don't know what a haka is, I will give you a letter introduction to it. Mainly the All blacks team, the most famous team of NZ, is known for it's slightly intimidating and beautiful haka. According to google the haka was first performed in 1905 called the 'Ka Mate' haka. They said that Te Rauparaha or Ngฤti Toa composed this Haka to mark his escape from death during an incident in 1810. The haka is a type of ancient Mฤori war dance traditionally used on the battlefield, as well as when groups came together in peace. Haka are a fierce display of tribe's pride, strength and unity. Action include violent foot stamping, tongue protrusions and rhythmic body slapping to accompany a loud chant. Chant means that you say a word or a phrase many times rhythmically and usually loud together in a group ๐

So of course you would like to see the haka, right? Well you can.. as I filmed it! Don't pay attention to the colors ,because I had set my camera on the wrong settings, but I'm happy because at least I got it on camera! ๐
So anyway that was alot of fun, but I will also be attending a real rugby game in Auckland probably the Blues vs. the Hurricanes but that depends on how I am going to plan the rest of my trip after I'll leave the kiwi family.

So last weekend.. and I have a weekend of 3 days (Fri/Sat/Sun) I went to Queenstown, well actually a village up the mountain called Cardrona and you might have seen my video on FB already about how scary it was to go up there with a car you're still not really comfortable with and besides that.. we have like zero mountains on our flat little country so no wonder it was a bit scary I guess ๐ And what a view from up there when I finally arrived, it was so pretty..
Also Queenstown is such a beautiful city, on the way to Queenstown you have the road that's called the Devil Staircase and the view from up there.. wow, you really need to try and focus to keep your eyes on the road instead of being amazed by all those beautiful wonders of nature :)

The next day I went for a horse ride that I already booked a few days ago. I rode up the hill with my Subaru Impreza or actually im.. za as all the other letters on the car are gone hehe. I stepped out of the car and there was a little country doggy waiting for me to be hugged and give him a rub over his belly ๐
At this ranch they ride Appaloosa horses, those are the horses you've probably seen in at least one western movie they are the ones that have spots all over the place.

We rode up the hill to get higher and higher up the mountain and finally there it was.. the spectacular view! There was even at one point that the guide told us to look for a pyramid-shaped mountain as that was Mount cook! ๐ป With most of these rides it is a fact that you're not allowed to throd or canter/galloping but in this case we galloped over the fields and for a moment I felt like a real cowgirl.

After that I went to Wanaka, maybe a little bit similar to Queenstown only from here you could see the mountains covered with some snow on top, truly amazing to see that but it was pretty cold that day so I didn't stay for long and went back to my cottage to watch some netflix and drink some wine ๐ท
